We Interrupt the New Year…

Happy 2023, Earth Citizens! I hope, between the time I’m writing this in late November, and the time it publishes in January, that nothing more horrifying than usual has befallen the world.

So, here’s the short version: I’m taking a break from my own self-imposed weekly writing schedule to concentrate on Whatever’s Next™ for me. So don’t keep setting your clocks to Saturdays noon-1pm Central for whatever mad ramblings I have planned.

Long version: I’m stepping back from writing on a schedule, but intend to keep writing all the same. Since starting at the tail end of 2020, this rediscovery of a thing that I loved so much has been paramount in keeping me sane. It got me through the lowest emotional point of my life, helped me come to grips with my own feelings and memories in a variety of ways, and continues to show me the depths and potential of the storytelling medium I love so much.

But holding myself to that weekly schedule now, between a full workday, needing to decompress from that workday, leaving time to seethe about my workday, desperately wanting to start a new and different workday, the desire to have a workday not outside my home…it leaves precious little time for this passion to feel like a passion. So, rather than run myself ragged by trying to Do It All™ on a timetable of my own creation (and eventual undoing), I’m going to not.

I’m looking for whatever’s next for me, both in the work I do and where I do it. Hopefully, I be back on my own twisted timetable again soon enough. But for now, thanks for reading (or not, no judgment), and I’ll try to have something else for you to look at soon.

Just an amateur reminding himself of what he loves. Looking to write about all the things and experiences that make the end of the world worth living in.
